Winter Internship 2020

December 2020 – January 2021

I am writing to share my positive feedback regarding the Credit & Risk Management Internship Programme at SG Cash. Having participated in the programme during my tenure as a intern back in 2020, I am delighted to provide insights into my experience.

I joined SG Cash as an intern from December 2020 to January 2021, during my final year at Nanyang Technological University. I was pursuing a degree in Business at the time and was eager to gain practical experience in the financial sector.

I became aware of the SG Cash Internship Programme through our university career services. The programme’s focus on credit and risk management aligned perfectly with my academic interests and career aspirations at that time.

What stood out to me about the Credit & Risk Management course at SG Cash was its coverage of credit risk fundamentals at SME level. The internship covered a wide range of topics, including financial analysis and creditworthiness assessment. Additionally, the hands-on learning approach through client visits provided invaluable insights into industry practices.

Participating in the Credit & Risk Management course broadened my understanding of credit risk dynamics and honed my analytical skills. I gained skills to evaluate counterparty credit risk, thereby enhancing my ability to make informed credit decisions. Moreover, the mentorship provided by SG Cash also allowed me to refine my analytical abilities.

I would recommend the Credit & Risk Management course at SG Cash to others seeking to pursue a career in credit risk. The programme not only offers a structured learning experience but also allows you to develop soft skills when engaging with clients.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the SG Cash Internship Programme in Credit & Risk Management. I commend SG Cash for its commitment to nurturing young talents and fostering excellence in the field of credit risk.

Thank you once again for the enriching experience, and I look forward to witnessing the continued success of SG Cash’s internship programmes.

I am excited to share my experience as a Credit & Risk Management intern at SG Cash. My journey with SG Cash began in the Winter of 2020, during my final year at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where I was pursuing a degree in Banking & Finance.

I discovered the SG Cash Internship Programme in Credit & Risk Management through NTU’s Career & Attachment office.

One aspect I particularly appreciated about SG Cash’s Credit & Risk Management internship programme was its practical approach to understanding credit assessment and risk mitigation strategies. Through hands-on assignments, I gained a comprehensive understanding of evaluating the creditworthiness of both SMEs and individuals.

Throughout my internship, spanning from December 2020 to January 2021, I was given opportunities to apply the knowledge acquired in real-world scenarios. From analyzing financial documents to engaging in site visits with clients, each task contributed significantly to my professional development. I also cultivated my Excel proficiency by automating processes and calculations.

Aside from credit risk and management, the internship provided a holistic learning experience encompassing various facets of the finance industry. Furthermore, the managers’ approachability and expertise in the field enriched the internship experience, ensuring it was both educational and enjoyable.

Based on my enriching experience, I wholeheartedly recommend SG Cash’s Credit & Risk Management internship programme to others seeking to deepen their understanding of credit assessment, risk management, and the finance industry as a whole. This internship offers valuable insights and practical knowledge that will undoubtedly benefit your career journey.

I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to intern with SG Cash and participate in their Credit & Risk Management internship. The invaluable experiences and lessons learned have shaped my professional growth.
